Welcome to the Friday, June 20, 2014 Edition of NarbNet!

June 21, 2014

Welcome to the Friday, June 20, 2014 Edition of NarbNet!

We’re getting ready!  Narberth T-Ball and Coffee’s season is over (post Coffee and Sundaes) and we’re finally
getting down to all this summer business.)
We start this Sunday with our famous Narberth Music and Arts Festival from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM in our
Downtown (Narband and Zing Kings!) and we head right into preparations (i.e. is your blanket in place?) for our
all Day and Night 4th of July Festivities! (I’m getting excited just explaining it all to you..)
Join us (and stay awhile) for all our wonderful Narberth celebrations!

A (very important) Message from the Narberth 4th of July Committee:
The 4th of July fireworks will be here before you know it!!   The fireworks (and daytime activities) are put on by
the Narberth 4th of July committee.  It costs the committee a great deal of money to put on the fabulous display
that you enjoy seeing every year!  To help offset the cost, we need collectors to help collect the donations from
those that are coming to see the fireworks display.   We need MANY collectors to make this event a success.

If you would like to volunteer some time at night (from about6:30 to 9:15) to help us collect donations, please
email Kathy & Fred Hansell at [email protected].
It's really a lot of fun and will be very rewarding for you knowing that you are helping to support the 4th of
Julycommittee and the great fireworks that you will be seeing!!

The website (narberthfourthofjuly.com or  narberth4thofjuly.com) and our Facebook page - Narberth Fourth of
July have all been updated with all the latest  information and times for the day!

From Lower Merion School District:
Lower Merion School District Strategic Plan Community Survey

Dear Community Members,

Lower Merion School District is currently engaged in an ambitious strategic planning process that will provide
the framework for public education in our community for the next five years and beyond. Community feedback
is critical in this process. We are asking community members to help us re-imagine our educational system, to
ensure that we are doing all we can to prepare future generations of children for success. Please take a few
moments to complete an online survey about our schools. We greatly appreciate your ideas and input. The
information you share will help guide the work of our strategic planning steering committee over the next few
months as we develop the District’s plan for the future.

Thank you to all who volunteer, donate and support ending hunger in our community.

In order to facilitate donations to the Narberth Food Bank, the Narberth Community Library has become a Drop
Off point for donations.  There is a recepticle just inside the library front door, in front of the circulation desk.
We hope this will make it easier for library patrons and other Narberth citizens to drop off much needed
donations at a time that is convenient for them.  The library is open from 10:00 to 8:00 - Monday thru Thursday
and 10:00 to 5:00 - Friday and Saturday. www.NarberthCivic.org/news is now publishing a self-updating notice
of items currently needed for donation to the food bank at the Narberth Family Resource Center. The needs
change regularly, and so will this list. I hope this will facilitate more efficient giving. Please remember the food
bank! Even just a few extra cans or items from
a trip makes a difference. There is significant and regular need right here in Lower Merion & Narberth. Check
out the article space in the top right hand column of NarberthCivic.org/news under Family Resource Center of
Narberth. Thank you for your support!
