Welcome to the Friday, June 19, 2015 Edition of NarbNet!
One should really go on more walking tours of Narberth.
This past Wednesday, Narberth welcomed the Montgomery County Planning Commission and guests from
other communities to the Boro to discuss our proposed Form-Based Zoning Code and afterwards, we had the
wonderful opportunity to walk the Borough and see how it was developed and how it will be implemented.
Narberth truly is beautiful.
To sum up our town, a comment was made that “Narberth with its walkability, streetscape amenities, range of
housing, transit-orientated development, strong downtown and community connection is a prime example of
new urbanism.”
Welcome to the new urbanism…
Happy Centennial Weekend Celebration Narbrook Park! (1915-2015)

We're showing "Penguins of Madagascar" with Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private and a few other Pixar
shorts in the Borough Auditorium, Boro Hall, 100 Conway Avenue, 2nd Floor, Narberth beginning at 7:00
P.M. Movie Night is always "FREE" and there will be refreshments, popcorn and candy available.
Parents/Guardians: Make it a Narberth Date Night! Grab a bite to eat or shop in our downtown during the
movie. There will be a sign-in sheet or just see me (I'm the projectionist) at Mayor's Movie Night!
2.) Sunday, June 21, 2015 ( Father’s Day!) the Friends of Linwood Park is sponsoring a Summer Solstice
Park-to-Park Bike Ride. We will meet atLinwood Park (corner of Athens Ave and Linwood Ave in Ardmore)

approximately 13 mile ride from Linwood Park, to South Ardmore Park, Wynnewood Valley Park, Shortridge
Park, Lower Merion Botanic Garden, the Cynwyd Trail, to Sabine Park and back to Linwood. We will be
traveling by low car, low stress roadways to emphasize how to get around the township without feeling as if
you may be plowed down byan SUV! This ride will also get us acquainted with better ways of biking around
the Township and Narberth and help us get to know our parks and their amazing attributes! You can join the
ride on the way or for the whole route. This ride is FREE and recommended for adults and older kids only - no
little guys on this one. Just show up on the 21st , no registration necessary. For more info or to help out, please
contact Kate Galer of the Friends of Linwood Park at [email protected]

Thank you to all who volunteer, donate and support ending hunger in our community. In order to facilitate
donations to the Narberth Food Bank, the Narberth Community Library has become a Drop Off point for
donations. There is a receptacle just inside the library front door, in front of the circulation desk. We hope this
will make it easier for library patrons and other Narberth citizens to drop off much needed donations at a time
that is convenient for them. The library is open from 10:00 to 8:00 - Monday thru Thursday and 10:00 to 5:00
- Friday and Saturday.
www.NarberthCivic.org/news is now publishing a self-updating notice of items currently needed for donation
to the food bank at the Narberth Family Resource Center. The needs change regularly, and so will this list. I
hope this will facilitate more efficient giving. Please remember the food bank! Even just a few extra cans or
items from a trip makes a difference. There is significant and regular need right here in Lower Merion &
Narberth. Check out the article space in the top right hand column of NarberthCivic.org/news under Family
Resource Center of Narberth. Thank you for your support!
