Now here’s a list of fun, entertaining and community events in and about our town (Narberth and Nearberth)
for the upcoming week (and don’t forget to check www.meetthemayor.org for more updates):
1.) First Friday, May 6, 2016: Art InsideOUT; Art Exhibits in Narberth
Narberth’s First Friday in May is always special because the Borough celebrates the launch of NarbART
month. For the month of May, shops and restaurants in downtown Narberth display original artwork, with a
common theme, in their windows. This year's NarbART Month has a “Night” theme: think sunsets and starry
nights, with owls, bats & night creatures, the moon and constellations, evening celebrations, and dancing like
spirits in the night!
On May 6, Narberth’s First Friday will also mark the official public launch of the Inside Out art exhibit, from
the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This installation brings reproduction of eleven pieces of art, from inside the
museum, outside to the streets of Narberth. There will be a ceremony for the official launch at 7pm in Station
Circle.
From 5pm to 9pm will be an especially festive First Friday, where locals stroll the downtown to see the art,
and enjoy open houses in the shops, an art “scavenger hunt”, crafts for the kids, dinner and drink specials in
the restaurants, and live music on the sidewalks.
If you can’t make it that evening, come out during the May 15, Spring Music & Arts Festival, or just visit the
Borough any time during the exhibit’s stay, through July 12. Adults or kids who want to get involved should
contact info@narberthonline.
More details about the Inside Out exhibit, and the related Narberth events at: www.narberthbusiness.com
2.) First Friday, May 6, 2016. In the spirit of aloha and in memory of Prince, Aloha Style will be supporting
the work of The Links, Inc., "Jamaica Project". This initiative benefits the students of Mt. Zion All Age
School in poverty-stricken St James Parrish. The Links also supports over 400 residents from the surrounding
community who live in extreme poverty. Aloha Style, 105 Forrest Ave., Narberth, will start accepting
donations of clean, gently worn summer clothes for children and adults at the First Friday, May 6th and
continuing through June 11th. Stop by with your donation of clothes, stay for a glass of wine, dance to some
Prince and even try your hand at lei making.

All are Welcome!*
Thank you to all who volunteer, donate and support ending hunger in our community. In order to facilitate
donations to the Narberth Food Bank, the Narberth Community Library has become a Drop Off point for
donations. There is a receptacle just inside the library front door, in front of the circulation desk. We hope this
will make it easier for library patrons and other Narberth citizens to drop off much needed donations at a time
that is convenient for them. The library is open from 10:00 to 8:00 - Monday thru Thursday and 10:00 to 5:00
- Friday and Saturday.
www.NarberthCivic.org/news is now publishing a self-updating notice of items currently needed for donation
to the food bank at the Narberth Family Resource Center. The needs change regularly, and so will this list. I
hope this will facilitate more efficient giving. Please remember the food bank! Even just a few extra cans or
items from a trip makes a difference. There is significant and regular need right here in Lower Merion &
Narberth. Check out the article space in the top right hand column of NarberthCivic.org/news under Family
Resource Center of Narberth. Thank you for your support!
9.) Wednesday, May 11, 2016, NARBERTH FRIENDS COMMUNITY PLAYGROUP
