Lower Merion School District Strategic Plan Community Survey
Dear Community Members,
Lower Merion School District is currently engaged in an ambitious strategic planning process that will provide
the framework for public education in our community for the next five years and beyond. Community feedback
is critical in this process. We are asking community members to help us re-imagine our educational system, to
ensure that we are doing all we can to prepare future generations of children for success. Please take a few
moments to complete an online survey about our schools. We greatly appreciate your ideas and input. The
information you share will help guide the work of our strategic planning steering committee over the next few
months as we develop the District's plan for the future.

d) History Presentation: Great Britain's Role in the American Civil War--Tuesday, June 17 at 12:45 PM: Not
only did the "war between the states" divide the American people, it also divided Great Britain. Although the
British were officially neutral, they had been dependent on cotton from the South. Throughout the American
Civil War, elite opinion tended to favor the Confederacy, while public opinion tended to favor the Union Forces.
The Confederacy believed that British dependence on cotton for its large textile industry would lead to diplomatic
recognition or military intervention. Learn about this riveting story with local historian Robert Bond. Advance

In order to facilitate donations to the Narberth Food Bank, the Narberth Community Library has become a Drop
Off point for donations. There is a recepticle just inside the library front door, in front of the circulation desk.
We hope this will make it easier for library patrons and other Narberth citizens to drop off much needed
donations at a time that is convenient for them. The library is open from 10:00 to 8:00 - Monday thru Thursday
and 10:00 to 5:00 - Friday and Saturday. www.NarberthCivic.org/news is now publishing a self-updating notice
of items currently needed for donation to the food bank at the Narberth Family Resource Center. The needs
change regularly, and so will this list. I hope this will facilitate more efficient giving. Please remember the food
bank! Even just a few extra cans or items from
a trip makes a difference. There is significant and regular need right here in Lower Merion & Narberth. Check
out the article space in the top right hand column of NarberthCivic.org/news under Family Resource Center of
