Welcome to the First Friday, February 6, 2015 Edition of NarbNet!
Happy First Friday in the Borough!
Like chocolate, I mean, LOVE CHOCOLATE? We have a wandering chocolate extravaganza going on
tonight in the Boro (See all the sweet deets below!)
Do you Facebook?
“Wonderful” for sharing pics of the NarbDogs (hey, look I just posted another of grady and Louise),
local characters (Hi Oz!) and posting information about events in your life (oh, stop with the beach pics, it’s 17
degrees here) and our town (always avoid Rick Nichols when he dresses as Scrooge.)
“Not so Wonderful” when it comes to discussing Borough Council business (really, I have yet to see
a Facebook Group stream end happily ever after without hurt feelings, complete misunderstandings, wild
speculation and the banning of member(s) from ever posting on the site again. Plus, who is Adele Dazeem
anyway?) Just avoid that aggravation. We really need you to attend public, open and unrestricted forums such
as Council’s Caucus and Council sessions for your voice to be heard. So, what do you want to say? Tell us.
We would really love to see you (and your beautiful face) and to hear what concerns you firsthand rather than
from behind a keyboard. Thank you.
A big Thank You to Borough Council for advancing the consideration of Public Space in our downtown.
Check out updates and additional postings at Narberth Town Hall located here:

Just “Like” the page and updates will appear in your newsfeed.

We love our NarbDogs! (but please remember to pick up those special “presents” left on the neighbor’s
property or public right of way and properly dispose of the bags in the trash (preferably in a Borough trash can
or take the present home to the bin.)
Woof Woof! (translation: Thank You!)

A big Narberth welcome to “Paws and Affection”.—“We are a 501c3 with the mission of training and placing
service dogs for children with mobility-related disabilities. We began training our first litter of 4 puppies last
month and we couldn't be more proud. They are learning and getting exposed to the world everyday which is
preparing them for their future role as a service dog for a child.”

In order to facilitate donations to the Narberth Food Bank, the Narberth Community Library has become a
Drop Off point for donations. There is a receptacle just inside the library front door, in front of the circulation
desk. We hope this will make it easier for library patrons and other Narberth citizens to drop off much needed
donations at a time that is convenient for them. The library is open from 10:00 to 8:00 - Monday thru
Thursday and 10:00 to 5:00 - Friday and Saturday.
www.NarberthCivic.org/news is now publishing a self-updating notice of items currently needed for donation
to the food bank at the Narberth Family Resource Center. The needs change regularly, and so will this list. I
hope this will facilitate more efficient giving. Please remember the food bank! Even just a few extra cans or
items from a trip makes a difference. There is significant and regular need right here in Lower Merion &
Narberth. Check out the article space in the top right hand column of NarberthCivic.org/news under Family
Resource Center of Narberth. Thank you for your support!
