Friday, April 3, 2015 Edition of NarbNet!

April 08, 2015

Welcome to the Friday, April 3, 2015 Edition of NarbNet!

Narberth Beer Runners.
Spring really (and finally) arrived this week in the Boro and it was a good time to catch up with one of my
favorite local groups, the Narberth Beer Runners.  Wednesday night was simply beautiful as we ran (with
some walking) through Narberth, a bit past Merion and back to toast “The Professor” at the Greeks.  Not only
were we able to take in all the wonderful architecture and beauty of our town, but also have the opportunity to
support a local business, get in (somewhat) better shape and make a few new friends.  If you are a runner or
even a casual jogger with creaky knees, I strongly encourage you to join this fun group and hope to see you at
the next “toast.”
Cheers!

bring the family downtown to have dinner in one of our BYOBs or pubs. Shop the stores that stay open late,
like Character Development, which always has a First Friday book special. Find some new treasures and have
some wine and cheese at Nannygoat Antiques. Don't forget to drop by Sweet Mabel, the heart of the First
Friday action here in the Borough. They always have a featured artist of the month, not to mention the funkiest
selection of art and gifts on the Main Line.

Questions? Visit narberthcommunityfoodbank.org

Thank you to all who volunteer, donate and support ending hunger in our community.
In order to facilitate donations to the Narberth Food Bank, the Narberth Community Library has become a
Drop Off point for donations.  There is a receptacle just inside the library front door, in front of the circulation
desk. We hope this will make it easier for library patrons and other Narberth citizens to drop off much needed
donations at a time that is convenient for them.  The library is open from 10:00 to 8:00 - Monday thru
Thursday and 10:00 to 5:00 - Friday and Saturday.
www.NarberthCivic.org/news is now publishing a self-updating notice of items currently needed for donation
to the food bank at the Narberth Family Resource Center. The needs change regularly, and so will this list. I
hope this will facilitate more efficient giving. Please remember the food bank! Even just a few extra cans or
items from a trip makes a difference. There is significant and regular need right here in Lower Merion &
Narberth. Check out the article space in the top right hand column of NarberthCivic.org/news under Family
Resource Center of Narberth. Thank you for your support!

4.)     Tuesday, April 7, 2015, State Rep. Mary Jo Daley, D-Montgomery, will hold three town hall meetings for
residents in the 148th Legislative District.
Daley said these meetings coming up in April will give residents a chance to hear about Gov. Tom Wolf’s
budget and how it impacts them and their community. Daley will also discuss the issue of fair education
funding.
“With a new governor and new legislature in Harrisburg, I feel this budget is providing the 'fresh start' that the
governor has been touting even before he took office,” Daley said. “I would like to give all my constituents an
opportunity to ask questions about what this budget plan would mean to them and their families.”
Daley’s town hall meetings will be held:
•       7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, Narberth Borough Hall, 100 Conway Ave., 19072.

•       7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 16, Plymouth Township Building, 700 Belvoir Road, Plymouth Meeting,

information on such issues as the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, health care and family services.
